Wrestlemania #ThankYouTaker

imageThis in my opinion was a very enjoyable Wrestlemania with moments that will be remembered forever. The Set was the best I have ever seen and the whole show proved no one can touch WWE when it comes to production. Many may be upset with out comes of some of the matches but no one can deny the effort put in by all to deliver a great show. While it may have been hard for many to sit through 7 hours, for me the moments we saw made it so much less of a chore.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Neville defeated Austin Aries

A solid match from these two, while it was surprising that Neville retained the way it happened left them with the option of continuing this story and I am good with that.

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Winner: Mojo Rawley

The highlight of this match was seeing Killian Dain at Wrestlemania. He is some one who we have seen many times on the UK Independent circuit and he more than deserved to be given that spot and he was in the last three which is a statement in my book. As for Rawley who gives an F’. No one has benefited from winning the battle royal over the last few years ( just look where last years winner was on the card). Rob Gronkowski not a fan of American Football so I really don’t care about him but it was funny seeing the pathetic attempt from the pint sized female security guard trying to stop him getting in the ring.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
Dean Ambrose defeated Baron Corbin

I honestly believe Ambrose has been a very boring IC champ and I thought this was going to be the moment when he dropped the belt and at least do one meaningful thing whilst holding the belt by giving it to Corbin who after his win last year could of had big back to back Mania wins instead the belt stays with the Stale Ambrose after a stale and boring match.

AJ Styles defeated Shane McMahon

While I was impressed with the agility shown by someone the age of Shane, I did think he got in far to much offence against the best wrestler in the world today. AJ should of dominated the match more than he did and it went longer than I thought it needed. But the high spots in the match were awesome and it was a great way to start the show.

United States Championship
Kevin Owens defeated Chris Jericho

I thought this match was very forgettable. The story going in was excellent but I felt the match did not deliver and neither did the finish. Compared to other matches this was way down on the pecking order for best match on the card when it should of been a contender for match of the night.

Raw Women’s Championship
Four Way Elimination Match
Bayley defeated Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Nia Jax

The two stand out performers in this match rightly were the last two in the match. I liked the three women teaming up on Nia to eliminate her but I don’t think we where supposed to feel sympathy for her as a heel when she was ganged up on by the three other women this felt kind of stupid. Sasha was underwhelming and did a few cool spots but her elimination was underwhelming. Bayley winning was the right thing to help build her character and there is defiantly more to come from these four women. Charlotte will get a rematch and will be champion again one day, Sasha desperately needs a Heel turn to get her character The Boss more steam and Jax will also be champion as she is more than a match for anyone in singles competition.

Raw Tag Team Championship
Four Way Ladder Match

The Hardy Boys defeated Enzo & Cass, Gallows & Anderson and Sheamus & Cesaro

With out doubt the biggest pop of the night was the surprise return of The Hardys. The match it self was not the best tag team ladder match ever but the return and the victory of the Hardys was one if the best moments on the show and gave a much need boost to a Stale Tag Team Division.

John Cena and Nikki Bella defeated The Miz and Maryse

Another bland match that was over shadowed by another Wrestlemania moment as John Cena proposed to Nikki Bella who of course said Yes. The Miz deserved a lot better at Mania after the fantastic year he has had.

Seth Rollins defeated HHH

A great story leading in to this great match that had a great finish. HHH looked great and as always delivered a Legendary performance. Rollins had the best match he has had in a long time. I felt Rollins needed this win a lot more than Hunter and the way it was done with Steph going through the table was perfect. My only problem with this non sanctioned match was why was there a WWE Ref in the match? Also this was another match that had far to much time

WWE Championship
Randy Orton defeated Bray Wyatt

This was another match that had a good story going in to it but the match itself did not deliver. I thought the images if Bugs and Worms was pointless and I did not get the reason behind them. The match was no better than the one these two had previously and it was one of the worst matches of the night. How has the outcome benefited anyone ? Wyatt is now right back to where he was before he lost the belt and Orton has another meaningless title run this could of been another huge moment if Bray had won and could of done a lot to legitimise him as champion but now we must all admit that they will never consider Bray to be a Top Guy in the company.

WWE Universal Championship
Brock Lesnar defeated Bill Goldberg

I loved this match ! Every part of it was perfect, both men did exactly what was needed and they delivered a match that I never thought the two could. Goldberg has been amazing in this run since returning to the WWE and in this match he put on the best performance I have seen from him. Lesnar needed the win and the way he did it was perfect by dominating Goldberg. There were a few moments when I thought that Goldberg might do it again but the longer the match went you knew who was winning.

Smackdown Women’s Championship
Naomi defeated Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Mickie James, Carmella and Natalya

This match did not deserve to be in the main show. It was just plain bad and if someone wants to argue with me why these women deserved this match over the SD Tag team champs The Usos against Alpha then I am not hard to find.

Roman Reigns defeated The Undertaker
If only every match had JR on commentary then this show would of been so much better. In my opinion there should be a three man team that calls all four big shows. JR, Cole and Graves ( who has improved to being the best commentator WWE have). Listening to JR call a match can only be described as a work of art. As for the match it was not the best match Taker as ever had but it was far from the worst and for me it was one of the best matches of the night. Maybe one to many Superman punches and Spears but Reigns winning was the right thing to do. I hope this is the end of The Undertaker, I have seen the whole of his WWE career from when he debuted in 1990 at the Survivor Series and in my opinion he is the Best Of All Time and no one will ever come close to having a career like his but it was time as I would rather remember him as the Greatest Of All Time rather than the old legend they had pull out just to draw ratings. All I can say now is Thank You Undertaker you truly are the Greatest Of All Time and The Real Mr Wrestlemania.
