We have been big fans of ICW for a few years now and one reason amongst many others is the over the top characters that are portrayed on the shows. One of these performers that has been making a name for himself recently is Christopher Saynt and we got the pleasure to find out more about the very talented Patriarch Of The House Of Saynt with this short interview.
UWR: Where are you from ?
Saynt: From Glasgow
UWR: How old are you ?
Saynt: 25
UWR: Were you a fan of pro wrestling growing up ?
Saynt: I was a fan yeah since the age of 8
UWR: Where did you train to become a wrestler and who trained you ?
Saynt: I trained at the Source Wrestling School under Damian O’Connor (aka NXT’s Killian Dain) and Mikey Whiplash
UWR: Who were some of your influences growing up ?
Saynt: Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen and Sensational Sherri
UWR: Are your family and friends supportive of your pro wrestling career ?
Saynt: Some are and some have different emotions towards it.
UWR: I’m sure like every wrestler you remember your first match. So who was it against and what do you remember about it ?
Saynt: My first match I was against Glen Dunbar in my hometown of Clydebank and I remember being so nervous that I was thrown through the curtain by Scott Renwick.
UWR: For people that have never seen you perform can you describe your character and wrestling style ?
Saynt: I prefer the older style. Picking away at my opponents and I have a tendancy to bend the rules but we must do anything we can to win.
UWR: What is your proudest moment from your time in pro wrestling ?
Saynt: Coming out as the first openly gay wrestler in the UK. Its (from the messages I receive) has helped so many people and that brings me pride every day.
UWR: Are there any wrestlers on the Indy scene you have never wrestled before that you would like to have a match or feud with ?
Saynt: I want a match with Danny Hope and Jack Sexsmith but NO ONE WILL BOOK IT!!!
UWR: If you could have a match against any wrestler in history who would it be ?
Saynt: Ric Flair.
UWR: Are there any other companies that you would like to work for in the future ?
Saynt: I would love to make an appearance at Progress and Pro Wrestling Chaos, southside and Absolute Wrestling as well.
UWR: What advice would you give to someone that wants to be a Pro Wrestler ?
Saynt: Listen, just shut up and listen, you dont know better, take any opportunity given to you.
