UWR: Where are you from ?
Scoot: Sacramento CA
UWR: How old are you ?
UWR: Were you a fan of Pro Wrestling growing up ?
Scoot: Yes I have been a fan for as long as I can remember.
UWR: Where did you train to become a Pro Wrestler, who trained you and how old were you ?
Scoot: I started at Pro Championship Wrestling in Oroville CA, trained by MPT, Skitzo, and Old School Oliver John. When I was 11, almost 12 me and PCW had a falling out and I found Supreme Pro Wrestling in Sacramento CA and been there ever since. Trained by Big Ugly JD Bishop, Sir Samurai, Cjay Kurz and Timothy Thatcher. Im now currently a head trainer at the SPW Training
Academy. I started with PCW but SPW has always been my home.
UWR: Who were some of your influences growing up ?
Scoot: As far as wrestling goes the Undertaker. He was the first wrestler I ever saw and made me fall in love with wrestling. And my grandfather, he’s the hardest working man I know. I hope I can be half the man he is before I die.
UWR: Are your family and friends supportive of your Pro Wrestling career ?
Scoot: My friends and family are very supportive. My best friend Devyn comes to every SPW show despite wrestling not being his go to thing. My mom, grandmother and sister currently run the SPW snack bar. My grandfather was the one who drove me to training every week before I have my own car and license. He also drove me to Texas, New Mexico and Arizona because he wanted to see me debut in the those States.
UWR: I’m sure like every Wrestler you remember your first match, so who was it against, did it go well and what do you remember most about it ?
Scoot: My very first wrestling match was at an SPW punk rock joint show called Punkslam. It was at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma CA. It was me as Josh the Ref vs an SPW student at the time Ramon Gomez. The match, all 3-4 minutes of it was horrible haha. I remember being so nervous and scared I couldn’t think, I didn’t have any room to be excited haha.
UWR: For people that have never seen you perform can you describe your wrestling style and character ?
Scoot: I’d say my style is well rounded. I can strong style, brawl, grapple etc. It really just depends on who is across the ring from me. I also am a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo and really like throwing kicks. My character is the little kid who had a dream and chased it the long the way for how young and small I was I was bullied I was picked on I was beat up but I never stopped training I never stopped getting better and now that I’m grown up I can handle my own and anyone who steps in the ring with me. A little flamboyant at times, play by the rules most of the time but if you remind me of someone who bullied me I’ll cheat to win I’ll bully you back. You never know what you’re going to get with me I guess it really depends on what side of the bed I wake up on that morning. And no matter what Beast you’re dealing with I’ll speak my mind and be very vocal about everything.
UWR: What is the best match you have ever seen ?
Scoot: That’s a hard one cause i’ve seen so many great matches, but being a little biased I would have to say The Undertaker versus Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25.
UWR: What is the best match you have ever had ?
Scoot: That’s another hard one because I’ve had so many great and matches as well as so many that aren’t so great hahaha. But if I had to pick one probably a match I had recently at Sac anime in Sacramento CA against Patrick Fitzpatrick for the spw extreme championship.
UWR: What is your proudest moment from your time in Pro Wrestling ?
Scoot: Once again this is hard because I’ve had a lot of proud moments. But one that clearly stands out is the first time I faced Adam Thornstowe. Adams a top guy who I respect and somewhat looked up to. But even when the booker made that match he didn’t think I could hang with Adam but I did and we went out there and had a pretty good match. That was a good feeling not only for proving people wrong but having a good match with someone like Adam.
UWR: Are there any Wrestlers on the Indy scene that you would like to work with that you have never worked with before ?
Scoot: There’s a lot I want to wrestle that I haven’t wrestled before but Dalton Castle it’s probably my favorite Indie wrestler right now and I feel like me and him could have a very good match.
UWR: If you could choose any wrestler in history to have a match with who would it be ?
Scoot: It would definitely be the Undertaker he is my all-time favorite he’s the one that made me really fall in love with wrestling and to stand across the ring from him would truly be a dream come true.
UWR: Are there any goals you have set for yourself ?
Scoot: There are many goals that I’ve set for myself. I have not achieved. First I want to wrestle anywhere and everywhere as many places as I can I want to travel the world. The dream for me would be to pay my bills and live comfortably off of pro wrestling with no nine-to-five but the ultimate goal/dream is WWE. I also just want to be the best possible wrestler I can.
UWR: What advice would you give to someone that wants to be a Pro Wrestler ?
Scoot: Keep your eyes and ears open and your mouth shut. Don’t get involved in politics. Have fun if you’re not having fun why you doing it. No matter what you want to be whether you want to travel the world or you just want to stay at one company in your little bubble, strive to be the best and the top person whether it’s just at that one company or the world. And lastly don’t quit, it gets hard it gets really hard but don’t quit push through it if this is something you set your mind on doing wait until you at least have your debut match to decide if this is something you really want to. If walking through that curtain isn’t the most amazing thing you’ve ever experienced in your life and doesn’t get you addicted to that feeling then you can decide to quit then you know it’s not for you because you have to love this.
UWR: Where can’t people see you perform next ?
Scoot: Friday November 3rd in Elk Grove CA for SST wrestling.
