With the biggest show in the UK taking place today in Scotland for ICW we got the chance a few days ago to interview one of the hottest young prospects in Scottish Wrestling Prince Asad.
UWR: Where are you from ?
Asad: I am from Glasgow, Scotland
UWR: How old are you ?
Asad: 24 years old
UWR: Growing up were you a fan of Pro Wrestling ?
Asad: Yeah i’ve been a fan of wrestling for as long as i can remember
UWR: Where did you train to become a Pro Wrestler and who trained you ?
Asad: I train at the PBW Acadamy in Barrhead, Glasgow and my trainer is Kid Fite Ross Watson
UWR: Who were some of your influences growing up ?
Asad: Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels without a doubt
UWR: Are your family and friends supportive of your Pro Wrestling career ?
Asad: Yes they have all supported me from day 1
UWR: Do you remember your first match, who was in the match and what do you remember most about it ?
Asad: My first match was a singles match against my good friend Lucha DS, yeah it actually went really well, how scary it was watching Lucha coming down with a Swanton.
UWR: For people that have never seen you perform can you describe your character and wrestling style ?
Asad: I mainly work heel so my character is cowardly, sneaky and egotistical. My style i would say is a mix of technical, brawling and high flying
UWR: What is the best match you have ever seen ?
Asad: The best match i’ve ever seen live is Kid Fite vs Matt Cross, good enough match for wrestlemania
UWR: What is the best match you have ever had ?
Asad: The best match i have ever had was working face against Davey Blaze in a town called Giffnock
UWR: What is your proudest moment from your time in Pro Wrestling ?
Asad: Seeing my name on the same run sheet as Matt Hardy
UWR: Are there any Wrestlers on the Indy Scene that you would like to have a match ?
Asad: I might regret saying this but I would like to wrestle BT Gunn and feel the pain of his chops
UWR: If you could choose any wrestler in history to have a match with who would it be ?
Asad: Would have to be Ric Flair
UWR: Are there any goals that you have set for yourself that you have not yet achieved ?
Asad: To wrestle on PBW’s biggest show Maximum Impact
UWR: What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Pro Wrestler ?
Asad: Get a drivers liscence and pay dues.
UWR: Where can people see you perform next ?
Asad: That would be at ICW France ’98 in the Garage, Glasgow in the Carlos Valderrama invitational battle royal
