Match Of The Night

Zack Sabre Junior vs Matt Riddle

The show started with an exciting spot fest with all five guys doing a good getting the crowd pumped up for the rest of the show. One shock that came from this show happened in the first match with Kurtis Chapman winning the belt. Now I have only seen him perform a handful of times I am starting to see why people talk so highly of him and while he may need to bulk up slightly in ring he is exceptional. I was also impressed with the crazy agility of El Phantasmo and as always David Starr was on top form. Unfortunately the first Ever Women’s Match had to follow this shocking moment. While the two women made history and their completely opposite characters meshed well. They both did a good job but it was always going to struggle following what happened in the first match. The battle for the tag titles was a very exciting tag match with two great heels in Bodom and Gibson doing what ever it took to try and win but the ability of Moustache Mountain paid off in the end. It was pretty obvious that Cody was not going to lose after the ROH PPV being set and even though they tried to say it would change everyone new the Final Battle card would not change now. Even though Marty came out and teased that he was going to turn on Cody again it was too obvious that he would not do that on this show. I really enjoyed Dunne vs Dennis and even though Eddie lost he proved he is more than ready to be a title contender. Who is this Rob Lias Guy ? Martin Stone and Dave Mastiff felt like a filler match and it was a flat emotionless contest throughout. Riddle and ZSJ was easily the best match on the show and in my opinion it should of been the main event of the show not the joke that was. The two different styles complimented both perfectly throughout this match and this is one of those matches I could watch over and over and not get bored. After seeing many ZSJ title matches they were starting to get a bit old however this match and his last one with Ospreay have been excellent. While I would of liked to see the belt change hands here I am also very interested to see Zack and Trent go at it. Okay now the Six Man Tag, firstly I am a fan of The Elite/Bullet Club and have been for years. Also I like the Bucks and Marty, also I must say I am not that big on CCK maybe because I have not seen enough of them or maybe it’s just down to personal taste. However the way CCK and Flip were made to look like nothing more than a couple of glorified jobbers while The Bucks and Marty turned the main event of what was a good show in to a comedy segment that belongs either at the beginning or stuck somewhere in the middle of the show was a joke. I know most will say this is the kind of stuff to expect from The Bullet Club and they were who the majority of people came to see. Even so why would you put this after what was a great match between ZSJ and Riddle also the show was running late already so why if this was the draw for the show did they put this on last when many people were leaving because the show ran late (again). Then why would they have #CCK arguably the hottest tag team in the UK made to look like that ? Like I said I am a fan of all the members of The Elite/Bullet Club but I am tired of seeing this comedy spot fest sketch and would like to see them all have a much more serious contest, maybe the Bucks challenge for the tag titles and maybe Marty should have a shot at the Rev Pro Heavyweight Championship. Overall this was a good show not the best from Rev Pro and it was mainly because of the positioning of some of the matches on the card if they had been organised better it would of been excellent I think ending the show with Trent standing over a prone ZSJ would of been perfect.
