Straight From The Happy Place It’s Ash Draven


When discussing the best wrestlers in Britain one name that gets mentioned by many fans and other wrestlers is Ash Draven. We were very lucky to ask him a few questions to find out more about Antisocial Ash Draven.

UWR: Where are you from ?

Draven: Originally from Rainham, Essex but currently living in Kent

UWR: How old are you ?

Draven: 31

UWR: Growing up were you a fan of Pro Wrestling ?

Draven: Yes I have been a fan since I was about 10 years old. Spending every Friday night watching WCW Worldwide on Channel 5 and the RAW on Sky.


UWR: Where did you train to become a Pro Wrestler and who trained you ?

Draven: I have trained in several places, including Dropkixx, London School of Lucha Libra and the ProJo (now Knucklelocks). My trainers have included Darrell Allen, Greg Burridge, Garry Vanderhorne plus seminars with Will Ospreay and Eddie Dennis.

UWR: Who were some of your influences growing up ?

Draven:  Growing up some of my influences were Jake Roberts, Macho Man, The Undertaker and Triple H. As I started focusing on being a wrestler I also took inspiration from Raven, Shane Douglas and Dean Malenko

UWR: Are your family and friends supportive of your Pro Wrestling career ?

Draven: Originally my family were not supportive of wrestling, I just don’t think they saw the appeal. As I have got more involved and progressed they have started to understand it more. Most of friends are either wrestlers themselves or fans.


UWR: I’m sure like most wrestlers you remember your first match. So who was it against and what do you remember most about it ?

Draven: The first match I ever had was against a young Will Ospreay and the thing I remember most about it is that there was nobody there to watch it.

UWR: For people that have never seen you perform can you describe your character and wrestling style ?

Draven: My character loathes everything about convention and society and is not shy about voicing his opinion. The character is styled after several villains from history, film and literature including Bill Sykes, Sweeney Todd, Jack the Ripper and Jekyll and Hyde. An intelligent, articulate man a vicious mean streak who is not shy to break all the rules to inflict suffering on his opponent.

UWR: What is the best match you have ever seen ?

Draven: My favourite match I’ve seen was Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25


UWR: What is the best match or opponent you have ever had ?

Draven: My favourite opponents have been Will Ospreay and Chuck Cyrus. My favourite ever match I’ve been in was vs. Chuck Cyrus at RCWA in September 2017

UWR: What is your proudest moment so far in your time as a Pro Wrestler ?

Draven: Proudest moment I’ve had in wrestling was being part of RCWA for the last 10 years

UWR: Are there any Wrestlers on the Indy scene that you would like to have a match with ?

Draven: There are several Indy wrestlers I would love to wrestle including Damian Dunne, Mark Haskins, Hustle Malone, Dalton Castle

UWR: If you could choose one person in history to have a match with who would it be ?

Draven: Macho Man Randy Savage

UWR: Are there any goals you have set for yourself that you have not yet achieved ?

Draven: Wrestle abroad


UWR: What advice would you give to someone that wants to be a Pro Wrestler ?

Draven: Experience as many training schools as possible and always listen to feedback. Pay attention to what is popular in society and think about how you can incorporate it into your wrestling. But most of all enjoy it and have fun.
