RAW 25th Anniversary Review: That Sucked

So after 25 years this is what we got. Okay there were some good moments like Austin and Vince at the beginning of the show, the Reigns and Miz match was awesome, Elias was the star of the current roster and Strowman did what he does best. But the rest of it was either nice nostalgia moments we have seen countless times  before on similair shows like this and pointless filler matches that went on way too long.

How can you have an eight women tag match follow the two best performers in the history of Raw. Vince proved that he is still able to draw heat from a crowd and he for me is the best heel ever in the history of wrestling and of course his greatest foe and greatest performer of all time Stone Cold Steve Austin was looking great and was on fine form. While this was a great opening segment i thought they could of stretched this out throughout the show. Maybe they could of had them announce they are going to give the award to Vince later on in the show at the Manhattan Centre and make everyone keep watching and waiting for Austin to come out and ruin the whole damn thing. But we got what we got and it was a one and done segment by the McMahons and Austin. Then came the pointless 8 women tag match and this is how they build to the first ever rumble. No match to decide who is the last entrant, nothing but Asuka throwing a fgew of the out the ring ! Wow that creative was worse than that piss poor match. Also why was Alicia teaming with Absolution ? Didn’t they beat her up a few weeks back ? Oh well who gives a damn about story line continuity.

Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James and Asuka defeated Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Nia Jax and Alicia Fox

So the Undertaker was at the Manhattan centre and he cut a promo that made little to no sense.

Intercontinental Championship

The Miz defeated Roman Reigns

Bray Wyatt defeated Matt Hardy

Chris Jericho had a small segment with Elias backstage that was entertaining.

But it was Elias that was the star of the current roster on this night. He was brilliant on his own then he did a great job in the verbal battle with Cena and mad ea huge statement when he smashed his guitar over the back of Cena. This guy has to be pushed higher up the card in 2018.

So i did enjoy all the nostalgia moments and its nice seeing all the old faces return even if it felt like we have seen this sort of thing at previous milestone shows especially that god awful DX reunion. them having Balor and his boys come out and doing a two sweet was a bit corny and possibly a little shot at the real Bullet Club.

In my opion this show is glaring proof that Raw is no longer entertaining and it has become stale. It’s time to end the show after 25 years and maybe create something that is new and fresh.
