  • So the first big show of the year at York Hall has set up a very interesting year  for Rev Pro. Curtis Chapman was very impressive in his title defence against Rob ‘The Gob’ Lias even if he did have help from Eddie Dennis who was seeking some revenge. I did enjoy the brawl between matches with Eddie Dennis and Josh Bodom. This is a feud that could be something very special just a shame Dennis is injured and we may have to wait a while. There are ways they can build this over a long time until Dennis is ready to come back so the pay off will be so much bigger. The tag match that followed was okay and it seems Bodom and Gibson are having problems could they be splitting up ? Brooks and Smile put on an excellent match. Brooks definitely looks like a great fit in Rev Pro, he made a huge impact on this show. Another good tag match between LIJ and Aussie Open, Fletcher and Davis put on a great performance proving they can hang with the best team in the world. The Women’s Match was mostly very good but there were parts that made me fear for their safety . The one moment in particular was when Millie Mckenzie attempted a Suicide Dive and if it were not for Jinny thinking quickly Millie could of Broken her neck. It seems nowadays there are too many wrestlers that rather than build a character and a story would rather attempt these high risk moves so we will chant “This Is Awesome” or get someone to give them a five star rating and rave about how great the match was online. What is happening is they are injuring themselves and shortening their Wrestling Careers. Another classic fast paced match between Ospreay and Andrews that was full of high spots. While this was a good match I was more intrigued with what went down after the match. Adam Brooks snuck in to the ring and attacked Ospreay, then as Andrews came back to the ring to save Will he also received a beating. Then he cut The Australian Flag off the tights of Ospreay. This was a great display from Brooks who has a bright future ahead in Rev Pro. The main event was very entertaining. There were spots of comedy mixed in with a lot of Strong Style shots and great wrestling. Moustache Mountain gave everything but it was not enough as Suzuki’s plan for World Domination Of Wrestling is underway. How many more titles and companies will fall under the control of Suzuki Gun. This has the potential to be the best story of 2018 if other companies are willing to help advance this story. Overall this was an enjoyable show that had a lot of good in ring action and the start of a few interesting feuds that could help this be a better year for Rev Pro.
