An announcement was made yesterday that ITV will be holding TV tapings for World Of Sport Wrestling in Norwich at Epic Studios on the 10th, 11th & 12th Of May. All tickets are Free and all you have to do is apply for them.

After their disastrous attempt last year ITV seem to think that they stand a chance at making this work. Many of the top British Talents are now signed with WWE (Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, Tyler Bate, Mark Andrews, Wolfgang and more to come with the next WWE U.K. Show having been announced), then arguably the three best British Wrestlers today that are making huge names for themselves in Japan (Will Ospreay, Marty Scurll & Zack Sabre Junior) will be off limits.
So we know they will probably use a large majority of the same guys they used last time. So we might  see Grado, Dave Mastiff, Joe & Mark Coffey, Kenny Williams, Rampage Brown, Sha Samuels, Ashton Smith & Viper. While of course there is a huge amount of talented Wrestlers that are on the British Indy scene that are more than good enough along with these excellent performers. We will not be seeing Zack Gibson he looks like he is going to be in the next WWE UK Championship Tournament shows. I would also be very surprised if Davey Boy Smith JR performs for them as he is killing it in Japan at the moment. I am sure many will not want to work for this company due to
how easy it could be for ITV to pull the plug on the whole thing yet again. But it could be a success and they are giving guys work who have more than earned this pay day. I just hope they have learned from the huge mistakes from the last show.

After watching this Facebook video from Roy Knight it is clear that The Knights are far from happy about the actions of ITV and Epic Studios.

The fan base WAW have are also angered by this and many to the point of wanting to protest at the venue on the days of the shows, also other WAW fans have said they will get tickets for the WOS show then not turn up !

Epic Studios also offered Guaranteed Free Front Row Tickets to anyone who attends the WAW show that is taking place at Epic Studios a week before WOS.

What this means for the relationship between WAW and Epic Studios is unsure at this time but it does look very likely that the next WAW show at Epic Studios might very well be the last one at that venue.

I don’t understand the infatuation with getting Wrestling back on TV every attempt over the last few years has made British Wrestling a complete joke ( See 5 Star & The last attempt by WOS). All you have to do is look at how well the two best U.K. based companies (Progress & ICW) are doing and they are not chasing TV deals.  Both are very successful with what they do. They both have excellent on demand services and while one is setting attendance records the other is selling out shows all over the world. Even WWE know that TV is dying and an on demand service is the future for Wrestling that’s why they started the WWE Network.
