The new generation of NXT talent on this roster is arguably the most talented they have had since maybe the days of Joe, Balor and Nakamura. The reason I am still going to be reviewing NXT and not anything to do with Raw and Smackdown is because I don’t have to sit through five hours of this every week, it’s only one hour a week of NXT. Also there is not a PPV every couple of weeks, there are only four NXT Takeover shows a year so they feel much more like special events than the countless amount of main roster big shows do. Because there is only an hour a week you don’t see every single member of the roster and there is not such a chance of them getting stale, this happens on a regular basis on the main two shows with the over the exposure of all the talent and there weakness getting exposed a lot more than they ever do with NXT. I believe both Raw and Smackdown would benefit from being at least an hour or more shorter than they are now and taking away some of the big shows that really mean nothing. I believe everything and everyone would profit from this. They need to make the top guys seem more special and seeing them perform in the ring in long drawn out pointless matches every single week will never work. They also need to work on being more creative away from the ring with video packages, promos and vignettes helping tell better stories. You would think with a whole film studios at their disposal they would be able to create a much more compelling product that is up to date with what we are seeing on TV these days. I am not saying that they don’t have the most stacked and talented roster they have had in years because they do but it’s the fault of the head of the creative team (Stephanie McMahon), but then whoever is in full control is really the problem at the end of the day (Vince McMahon) as they are the person that thinks these shows are good enough to put on TV. Nothing is likely to change anytime soon as I highly doubt Vince would ever fire his Princess.
This weeks episode started with a very intriguing segment between Ricochet and Velveteen Dream that left me and many others salivating at the idea of theses two clashing in the very near future. EC3 was of course brilliant in his match with the extremely underrated Raul Mendoza he is someone who could do very well on 205, as for EC3 he is going to be a top guy on this show it not a matter of IF, but rather WHEN.
Dakota Kai was impressive in her match with Vanessa Borne and I did like what they are doing with her and Shayna Baszler this has the potential to have an awesome pay off.
The War Raiders pretty much squashed Heavy Machinery, I thought this had the potential to be a bigger and better match than it was. I guess we see what the think of Heavy Machinery, as for War Raiders they are clearly being pushed to be another totally dominant team much like The Authors Of Pain once were. They will be Tag Champions at some point in the future.
I really enjoyed the main event but while Ciampa continued to be the best heel in not just NXT but WWE and the whole of wrestling, I was wondering more about what the future holds for Kassius Ohno. Will he ever reach the main roster ? If not will he ever even be considered to be a champion in NXT. I believe he should be but I’m not so sure the people in charge feel the same way.
There were also a few matches that have already been announced one of them that I am actually looking forward to seeing is the six man tag Undisputed Era vs Pete Dunne, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan.
Hope you enjoyed this Review, there will be more to come but if you want Raw and Smackdown Reviews Go Elsewhere I will never be wasting my time with them ever again. But I will be watching the U.K. stuff they do as I am very interested to see what they do now World Of Sport are returning to TV.
