The talent that is being produced in this country is outstanding and another young man who is making a name for himself all over Europe is The O.J.M.O. Having seen him perform a few times we can say without a doubt that he has a very bright future ahead of him. We were extremely lucky to get a short interview with him so please check it out.
UWR: Where are you from ?
O.J.M.O: Hackney, London
UWR: Growing up were you a fan of Pro Wrestling ?
O.J.M.O: Absolutely. I’ve been watching wrestling for as long as I can remember.
UWR: Where did you train to become a Wrestler and who trained you ?
O.J.M.O: I was trained by Darrell Allen at the Knucklelocks Gym
UWR: Who were some of your influences growing up ?
O.J.M.O: The Rock, Jericho & Austin were my three biggest influences growing up for sure.
UWR; Are your family and friends supportive of your Pro Wrestling Career ?
O.J.M.O: They think it’s cool, sure!
UWR: I’m sure like every Wrestler you remember your first match. So who was in the match ? Did it go well ? And what do you remember most about it ?
O.J.M.O: Match number 1 was for PROGRESS Wrestling’s Freedom’s Road in June 2017. I was in a tag match facing Never Say Die. The trailer just released for the new season so I’ll keep quiet about the details but from what the higher-ups said, the match went very well!
UWR: For people that have never seen You perform can you describe your character and wrestling style ?
O.J.M.O: I’m a dude that’s convinced that the Half-Crab is the greatest move of all time and I’ve perfected it. I also shout “Now We Play” a lot. That’s the gimmick.
UWR: What is the best match you have ever seen ?
O.J.M.O: Probably Hogan vs Rock from WrestleMania X8.
UWR: What in your opinion is your best match or opponent you have ever had ?
O.J.M.O: The best match is either teaming with Big T Justice against the Bhangra Knights at the very first PROGRESS Live At The Dome show or against the Hitset for ACW.
UWR: What is your proudest moment from your time in Pro Wrestling ?
O.J.M.O: Teaming with Big T facing The N.I.C. (Charlie Carter & Oisin Delaney) at the Electric Ballroom in October 2017. We’ve wrestled before so for the four of us to be on that stage together was truly special for me.
UWR: Are there any wrestlers on the Indy scene you would like to wrestle that you have never wrestled before ?
O.J.M.O: Kurtis Chapman, Connor Mills, Maverick Mayhew, Hardcore Holly
UWR: If you could choose any wrestler in history to have a match with who would it be ?
O.J.M.O: The Rock. No brainer for me.
UWR: Are there any goals you have set for yourself that you have not yet achieved ?
O.J.M.O: There are a lot of personal goals as well as professional goals that I’ve yet to achieve this year – one of them purely being to weigh more. That’s very important to me.
UWR: What advice would you give to anyone starting out in Wrestling ?
O.J.M.O: Don’t be an idiot, be able to self-assess your ability and what you need to do to improve it, and don’t expect success – enjoy the training aspect of wrestling or you won’t enjoy wrestling. Oh, and be a good person.
