Review

With them returning to the Asylum it reminded me of the best days of TNA and that it was such a shame how it all turned out. But now Impact Wrestling while maybe not reaching the heights reached by TNA and I doubt they ever will I must say they are giving it their best shot. While their weekly tv is hard to sit through, their PPVs have been some of the best in the industry at present. Homecoming was no different. It all started with an X Divison Classic The Ultimate X Match. While this may not of been as good as others of this match type in the past have been it was still extremely enjoyable. All four guys put their bodies on the line as they performed some of the most insane risks I have ever seen. I thought Ethan Page had a great showing, Rich Swann and Jake Crist were outstanding but the star of this match was Trey he definitely has a bright future. No doubt he will be an X Divison champ at some point. I have not enjoyed any of the story involving Su Yung and Allie it’s getting ridiculous and the acting is awful. The match was subpar and I thought Grace was wasted on the outside this would of been better if it were a tag match. I have liked the majority of the storyline involving Moose and Eddie Dennis especially Eddie in hospital with Raven. The match was a fantastic way to end the feud it was extremely violent and I liked how Alicia got involved at the end not to help Eddie win but to punish Moose for all the torment he has caused. With out doubt the stand out performer for Impact Wrestling in 2018 was Sami Callihan and I think 2019 will be an even better year for the leader of oVe. His match with Mack was fantastic they told a great in ring story with  Mack refusing to stay down after an insane amount of punishment. But thanks to outside interference from Dave Crist, Sami was able to score a big win. It was sad to see Abyss in a ring in 2019. The guy is past it and this match proved that. This match would of been dreadful if it were not for the phenomenally talented Eli Drake. That guy is one of the best around today, you could even say he is Elite ! By far the best match on the card and definitely one you must see is the tag team championship match between LAX and The Lucha Bros. Some of the moves they pulled off in this match was unbelievable just watch it! You will love it trust me. Both the women’s and male championship matches were very good but both had very sloppy finishes that was kind of a let down. I liked Gail as Ref but as a baby face she got far to involved in the match and basically handed Taya the belt. As for  the guys it was the whole thing with the ref being distracted by those Survivor Guys surely that a job for security not the ref for the main event to deal with ? But thenbthe whole mistake and roll up was a bad way to end what was an enjoyable match between Cage and Impact. The show ended with Killer Kross taking out the husband and wife champs with him throwing Taya via a power bomb into a group of planted (fake) fans. I do like Killer Kross he is very different from anyone else in the business at the moment, he is fantastic on the mic and just as good in the ring. If they don’t build the company around this guy they seriously need their heads testing. This was again another enjoyable Impact PPV, I will try and give the weekly TV another try but I am not promising anything.
