We continue to interview some of the best talents around on the independent circuit and one man who is definitely one of the best around today is The Urban Goth Frankie T. We were very lucky to get this interview with him.
UWR:Where are you from?
Frankie: I’m from Portsmouth
UWR: How old are you?
Frankie: I am 35 yrs old
UWR:Growing up were you a fan of Pro Wrestling?
Frankie: I was a huge fan of the WWF/WWE and WOS on the weekends, watching them with my grandad.
UWR: Where did you train to become a Wrestler and who trained you?
Frankie: I first started training with FWA by Mark Sloan. I also trained at VPW, RevPro, KAPOW and IPW.
UWR: Who were some of your influences growing up?
Frankie: My main influences growing up were Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. Two different styles that always grabbed my attention.
UWR: Are your family and friends supportive of your Pro Wrestling Career?
Frankie: Not all family and friends support my career choice. But those that have, have helped me achieve a life goal I wanted as a child.
UWR: I’m sure like every Wrestler you remember your first match. So who was in the match ? Did it go well ? And what do you remember most about it?
Frankie: My first match was an appearance in royal rumble for RevPro. It wasn’t the dream debut as I was dumped out by James Castle in quick fashion.
UWR: For people that have never seen You perform can you describe your character and wrestling style?
Frankie: My character is based on a few personal experiences I have had growing up. I was the outsider because of my dress sense, my taste in music and my ability to do things. My wrestling style is a cross of Jeff Hardy, Gregory Helms and the Undertaker. A risky dare devil who can display power and be technical. The unpredictability catches quite a few off guard.
UWR: What is the best match you have ever seen?
Frankie: Mr Perfect vs Bret Hart at Summerslam. Perfection vs excellence. I highly recommend this to anyone, and one I still watch to this day.
UWR: What in your opinion is your best match or opponent you have ever had?
Frankie: The best match and opponent I had to date is Jezz Gardner two years ago. The fans were split between us as we were evenly matched and was a good performance between us.
UWR: What is your proudest moment from your time in Pro Wrestling?
Frankie: My proudest moment so far is my debut. After a few personal events, I was extremely close to giving up but those that supported me, got me where I am today.
UWR: Are there any wrestlers on the Indy scene you would like to wrestle that you have never wrestled before?
Frankie: There are a few I would like to wrestle. Chuck Cyrus, Kelly Sixx and Karl Atlas as I have trained with them all on different levels and to put my skills against those would test my ability.
UWR: If you could choose any wrestler in history to have a match with who would it be?
Frankie: Christopher Daniels. The man is the complete package in wrestling. Definitely could take a lot away from being in the ring with him.
UWR:Are there any goals you have set for yourself that you have not yet achieved?
Frankie: I set yearly goals and try to surpass them as you never know in wrestling when your career can come to an end. My main goal for this year is to wrestle abroad and to win championship gold.
UWR: What advice would you give to anyone starting out in Wrestling?
Frankie: Always listen and respect what is being said to you. Whenever your in a locker room, always shake everyone’s hand and introduce yourself, and you are never done paying your dues. 30 year veterans are always helping set up and taking down.
UWR: Where can people see you perform next?
Frankie: I’m next wrestling on February 2nd in Essex for IWE and Swansea for Exist Pro on the 3rd
